Spool Collective's upcoming multi-arts exhibition 'Advice From Your Mother' opens on the 2nd of November at Love Love Studio in Tenneriffe. The exhibition “explores our human need for others and nostalgia of moments in conversation with those wise matriarchal figures who have guided, amused, reprimanded and cared for us”. Creatives include Barek, Alex Winters, Charlie Hillhouse, Deerhouse Pictures, X Hanna Bronte, Sarah Winter, Jack Loel, Lucy Ingham and Amy Blomberg.
Spool Collective are also seeking entries for an accompanying photography competition Snapshot Superdraw. Three lucky photographers will receive double passes to Palace Cinemas whilst the winner takes home six film double festival passes to the Brisbane International Film Festival. To enter, submit an image of you and your mother (the awkwarder the better) to spool.collective@gmail.com by the 28th of October. The winners will be notified by email and the winning entries will be published on their blog, facebook and twitter.
